Debt collection at your own expense

Debt collection at your own expense is a solution for those companies that want to recover their domestic or foreign arrears, but do not want to charge the debtor with debt collection costs. This option is most often chosen by companies that want to maintain a good relationship with the debtor or when the amount of debt does not exceed PLN 2500.

Frequently Asked Questions

I have several overdue invoices. Can I submit some of them for recovery at the debtor's expense, and the rest for collection at my own expense?

Yes. In the first step of submitting your application for debt collection, you choose a debt collection option. Even if you have several invoices for the same debtor, you can submit some of them for recovery at the debtor's expense, and the rest for collection at your own expense.

Can I report a note for 40/70/10 EUR for recovery at the debtor's expense?

No. If we collect a debt at the debtor's expense, we issue a debit note to the debtor on your behalf for 100% of the cost of the commission for debt collection activities. Therefore do not issue a note for 40/70/100 EUR by yourself.

Why do you recommend using debt collection at my own expense for debt amounts below PLN 2,500?

In accordance with the applicable regulations, you have the right to compensation for debt collection costs in the amount of EUR 40, if the debt value is lower than PLN 5,000. So for a debt of  PLN 2,500, you have the right to demand a refund for 40 EUR from the debtor. We charge our commission only on the settled amount of debt, which - with low debt amounts - means that the commission for our activities is lower than the equivalent of  EUR 40. Therefore, for low amounts, we recommend using debt collection at your own expense and attaching a note for 40 EUR to the notification, because with this option you will receive a greater amount of compensation for debt collection costs.
